Triple Convergence (ch. 3) <ul><li>The main reason for this chapter is to explain why information and communications technology (ICT) starts having a major impact on global society (government, business, and civil society) twenty years after the introduction of PCs to the marketplace. </li></ul><ul><li>The chapter is a response to the skepticism on the part of economists of the importance of ICTs, particularly with respect to the ability of ICTs to raise productivity. </li></ul> Triple Convergence (ch. 3) <ul><li>The main reason for this chapter is to explain why information and communications technology (ICT) starts having a major impact on global society (government, business, and civil society) twenty years after the introduction of PCs to the marketplace. </li></ul><ul><li>The chapter is a response to the skepticism on the part of economists of the importance of ICTs, particularly with respect to the ability of ICTs to raise productivity. </li></ul>
