  4. Malaria is a parasitic disease transmitted by the bite of infected mosquitoes. Once the first symptoms appear, malaria can kill very rapidly and often does. マラリアは寄生虫性の病気で 寄生虫に感染した蚊によって伝染する。 一度症状が現れると感染者は非常に早く死にやすく 実際によく死にいたる。

  5. 300-500 million cases of malaria cause up to 3 MILLION DEATHS EVERY YEAR, most of them children under the age of 5. 毎年　３－５億件の マラリア疾病者のうち ３００万人が死亡する。 その大多数が５歳未満の 幼児である。

  12. ROLLBACK MALARIA’s strategy includes distribution of insecticide-treated mosquito nets (ITNs) to prevent mosquitoes from infecting people with malaria. ロールバック・マラリアの 戦略： 殺虫剤処理済みの蚊帳（ITN) を配布して、蚊によって人々が マラリアに感染するのを防ぐ。

  13. ITNs can reduce malaria mortality by more than 50%!! ITN仕様の蚊帳 によってマラリア による死亡率を 50パーセント 以上削減できる。 ITNs can save up to 1.5 million lives! ITNによって150万人もの命を救える！

  15. Y’s Men International （YMI) and the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) have already begun their coordinated efforts. 国際ワイズメンズクラブ（YMI) と 国際赤十字・赤新月社連盟（IFRC) の連携・協力関係は すでに始まっている。

  16. In 2008, YMI and the IFRC distributed 25,000 nets in Sierra Leone. 2008年、YMIとIFRCは シエラレオネで25,000張りの 蚊帳を配布した。
