  7. Summer School Activities • The following slides are LASTyear’s activities. • Some may change but many will stay and be refined. The Dudley Zoo visit will remain with addition of a visit from Animal Man

  8. Monday There will be an introduction to your teachers, groups and the theme of the week. You will take part in enterprise and teambuilding exercises and start to find out about endangered animals and their habitats.

  9. Tuesday There will be various exciting tasks and activities to do throughout the day. You will use technologies such as Surface, i-pads, Play Station 3, DSIs, netbooks and PCs

Wednesday Group 1; Trip to Dudley Zoo Group 2; Day of activities Another set of stimulating activities Over the week you will be using software such as:- Crazy talk Little Big Planet Brain Training Rafiki Comic Life You will find out about the animals, their natural habitats and the work Dudley Zoo do on conservation. There will be a workshop with the zoo keeper Take part in a “Map Mission” where you need to find answers to clues for a prize You will also be able to go around Dudley Castle.

Thursday Group 1; Day of activities Group 2; Trip to Dudley Zoo A set of stimulating activities Over the week you will be using software such as:- Crazy talk Little Big Planet Brain Training Rafiki Comic Life You will find out about the animals, their natural habitats and the work Dudley Zoo do on conservation.   12. Friday The final day of the week will be our Showcase Event Students will present in groups the week’s work, celebrate their learning and share achievements. Rotation of school garden/conservation class during the week around Shireland grounds. (S Akers)

Deforest Action Project • Some pupils will have the chance to spend 3 full days on TakingITGlobal’sDeforestation Project • This Project helps raise awareness about deforestation, with a focus on the destruction of native forests for the commercial production of palm oil, and illustrate what young people can do to reclaim at-risk forests and preserve them for future generations

  14. Homework activities There will be a Summer School Class Site just for you and your families on the Learning Gateway which is our virtual school that you can access at home. • On there will be:- • Announcements and timetables • Photos of what has happened each day • Homework activities and fun things to do • Links to other relevant websites • Topical daily discussions
