  1. 1 Peter 2 :11-17 THE SUBMISSION OF THE CHRISTIAN LIFE

  2. His Description of them • THEIR STATUS BEFORE GOD Dearly beloved • THEIR STATE BEFORE MEN Strangers and Pilgrims

  3. His Demand to them 1Peter 2:11 Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; 12 Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles:

  4. His Desire for Them 1 Peter 2:12 Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.

  5. THE COMMAND THAT REQUIRES SUBMISSION • (1Pet 2:13) Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme;

  6. (Rom 13:1) Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. • (Rom 13:2) Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

  7. (Act 5:28) Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us. • (Act 5:29) Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

  8. THE COMPLUSION THAT GOVERN SUBMISSION • Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake:

  9. ENDURE PERSECUTION (Mat 5:11) Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. • ENDURE HATRED (Mat 10:22) And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

  10. ENDURE LOSS OF LIFE (Mat 10:39) He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it. SUFFER LOSS FOR THE LORD’S SAKE

  11. THE CHARACTERISTICS THAT DISTINGUISH SUBMISSION • (1Pe 2:16) As free, and not using your liberty for a cloak of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.

  12. THE CATERGORIES THAT EXHIBIT SUBMISSION • (1Pe 2:17) Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.

  13. Honour all men Love the Brotherhood Fear God Honour the king
