Review of previous meeting • Presentation: Experimental Methods for Web sites • Controlled web experiments • A/B bucket testing • Overall Evaluation Criteria • Importance of interpreting results of bucket testing • Correlation vs causality • P-value • Behavior-based search • Experimental sample size • Simpson’s paradox • Twynman’ law

Previous week’s assignment • Continue to work on and test your prototype • Get your demo prepared • Ideally, Demo should be runnable online by anyone in the class • If your platform choice makes this impossible, talk to me about it asap • Update your team journal on wiki • Update your personal journal on wiki • Start reviewing reading material for final

  5. Final Exam • take-home open-book quiz • (true/false, multiple choice, and short answers). • Will take approx 90 min but you can take as much time as you need • Due for upload on CSNS 5 pm Sunday June 17, 2012 • Reading material on wiki page • FINAL will be uploaded to wiki by 5 pm, Sunday June 10, 2012.

  6. Personal Journal and Team Journal • Checklist for both will be uploaded to wiki by 5pm, Sunday 10 June. • Both should be complete and on the wiki by 5 pm, Sunday, 17 June.

  7. Demo • Each team gets 15 minutes • 10 for demo, 5 for questions • Default Demo date is 6/9/2012, in class • If you cannot demo on 6/9, see me • Backup demo date is 6/16/2012, in class • Demo + 4 slides • Slide to Summarize what your app does • Slide to Say what scenarios you will be demo-ing • Demo your scenarios • slide with any explanations needed • Summary slide • Question / comment time

  8. Demo Evaluation • Each student will evaluate each demo • Template on wiki • Email completed templates to me by end of class today • Evaluations are confidential but summaries are not
