  1. Because where your treasure is ...

  2. What is Giving? • Matt 5:40 –If someone wants take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well. • Matt 5:42 –  Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you. • Matt 6:2 – Give to the poor • Matt 6:19 – Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, but in heaven.

  3. What is money?

  4. Why is money important?

  5. Treasures in Heaven • Matt 6:19 –  Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

  6. Tithing Malachi 3;8-12 Will a man rob God? Yet you rob me. But you ask, 'How do we rob you?' In tithes and offerings. 9 You are under a curse- the whole nation of you- because you are robbing me. 10 Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this, says the LORD Almighty, and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. 11 I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not cast their fruit, says the LORD Almighty. 12 Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land, says the LORD Almighty.

  7. Acts 4:32-35 All the believers were one in heart and mind. No-one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had. 33 With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and much grace was upon them all. 34 There were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales 35 and put it at the apostles' feet, and it was distributed to anyone as he had need.

  8. 1. God – not money – is my God
