Dear Wilson Family Members: To God be the glory for every blessing He has bestowed upon us and our Wilson Family Reunion. The 2004-05 Wilson Reunion year is providing to be a great one and has the committee members quite busy. I am proud to say that Foundation Members giving is on the rise and we have much to be thankful for. The 2005 Wilson Family Reunion Weekend July 8-10, 2005 will be held in Charleston, South Carolina. We are excited to host the reunion in Charleston, South Carolina. This will be our first time having the reunion in Charleston, South Carolina and we know that with the support of our family members this will be a great success. The planning committee is working hard to keep everything as economical as possible. Mark your calendars and make your reservations now. The Hosting Hotel-Holiday Inn Charleston Riverview will hold a block of rooms until June 7, 2005. The Dinner Cruise-Carolina Belle must be paid for in full by April 28, 2005 (payment plans are available-check with the president). All monies for the reunion must be paid for no later than April 28, 2005. The fees and activities are enclosed in this packet. The language and culture still thrive today in and around the Charleston/Beaufort, South Carolina region. • Gullah Tours explores the places, history, and stories that are relevant to the rich and varied contributions made by Black Charlestonians. • As the name implies, the Gullah language, native to the Charleston area, is featured on much of the tour. Of course, if Gullah was spoken throughout the tour, you would not understand, nor would you enjoy the beautiful and interesting sites of Charleston. • Your tour guide, Alphonso Brown, is a native of Rantowles, South Carolina, a rural community of Charleston, and is fluent in the Gullah language and familiar with many of the Gullah customs. • Gullah Tours can provide a view of Charleston not available on other tours from the comfort of our 21 passenger, air conditioned tour bus.

WILSON FAMILY REUNION 2005 ACTIVITIESJuly 8-10, 2005 Saturday, July 9, 2005 • Holiday Inn Shuttle Bus Drops Off Downtown Free • Things to see and do in Charleston, SC • The shuttle bus WILL LEAVE THE HOTEL for downtown at the following times: • 9:30am, 11:30am, 1:30pm, 3:30pm, 5:30pm, 7:30pm, and 9:30pm • The shuttle will be running approximately every two hours. The shuttle starts running at 9:30am to approximately 10:00pm. Each run takes about 30mins to complete. We have set up four points of interest as the pick up and drop off points downtown for your convenience. The shuttle drops off and picks up at the same time. To better serve our guests we ask that you be at the following pick up points as close to the half hour as possible in order to catch the shuttle back to the hotel and avoid being missed. Please set your watch to the time on the clock at the front desk for this is the time the driver goes by. DUE TO TRAFFIC AND MOTHER NATURE, THERE MAY BE TIMES THAT THE SHUTTLE IS RUNNING A LITTLE BEHIND OR MAY BE CANCELLED. If for any reason you would like to contact the hotel, the number is (843) 556-7100. The following stops are marked on the above map with stars and numbers. Due to the Visitor’s Center and Aquarium closing at 5:00pm, the last shuttle run to these two stops will be the 5:30pm run. • N. Establishing Foundation Membership The Wilson Family Reunion members are committed to offering assistance to the continuation of the Wilson Reunion and are interested in you becoming a Foundation Member. We realize that the Wilson Family Members have a genuine purpose and are among the reunion’s greatest resources. Foundation Members play a unique role in Wilson Family Reunion recruitment, financial support, promoting the Wilson Members to the public and perpetuating the legacy and mission of the Wilson Family Reunion. Thus, it is imperative that we keep our reunion functioning vitally. Wilson Foundation members are asked to pay dues of $50.00 annually for 2 years. This financial contribution supports the administration (correspondence mail-out, phone calls etc.), senior citizens (defrays some of the cost of the reunion), education (scholarship) and hospitality (cards and bereavement arrangements) for our Wilson Foundation Members.
