  3. Armor Mail is steel loops linked together to prevent from getting cut or stabbed The only disadvantage of this armor was that it was very heavy and slowed movement Depending on the rank not everyone wore it

  4. Armor Some of the earlier armor, before mail, was made from thick leather Stopped most slashes and cuts but not very effective Sometimes used under steel plated armor Used more in the Roman Era

  5. Armor Steel Plated armor was also used for protection against stabs and cuts It also protected against arrows It was usually worn on top of mail for the higher ranked officers for extra protection Hindered movement

  7. Swords There were many different types of swords There was the long sword, the great sword, and so many more The swords were used for close combat and was the main weapon of that era

Axes and Maces Axes and maces were used for close combat fighting but could also be thrown They weren’t as popular as swords Most people who used them were the ones who couldn’t afford swords Usually light and balanced to help on the battlefield Known for there destructive power and easily take down fully armored enemies

  9. Spears Spears weren’t as popular and effect and nearly as strong as swords They were usually wooden poles with super shape spear heads at the top They were used to keep the fighter as far away from there opponent as possible while still being able to fight off there enemy
