  2. Neil Armstrong was born in Wapakoneta, Ohio on August 5, 1930.

  3. Neil Armstrong’s parents were Viola and Stephen Armstrong. • His siblings were Dean and June.

  4. After high school he joined the Holloway Program. The Holloway Program is when the Navy will pay for any college you want to go to but after college students have to join the Navy. • He attended Purdue University.

  5. Neil Armstrong got married to Janet Shearon in 1956 . They had three children together. • He later remarried Carol Knight in 1994.

  6. He was the test pilot for the X-15. • He also was the commander of the Gemini 8.

  7. He was the Commander of Apollo 11 space module. • He was the first man on the moon.

  8. After his voyage to the moon he became a professor at the University of Cincinnati. • He is currently living in Wapakoneta, Ohio and is retired.
