Real World Purpose • A passport is required for international travel across all international borders • All countries and even many territories (self-ruling parts of countries) issue passports • For example, what two countries does the USA share land borders with? Mexico and Canada Therefore, you need a U.S. passport to go to either Mexico or Canada.

  3. Criteria • Students should accurately list the official name of the country and must correctly spell it in both its English and native language(s) version(s) (if possible). This information should appear clearly and neatly on the front page of the passport. Video presentations should accurately mention the name of the country in English and the native language. • Students should accurately incorporate the use of the color images and pictures to create a clear and precise theme for the viewer of the physical passport, PowerPoint presentation, graphic novel or the video.

  4. Students will correctly write an essay in the approved manner following all rules of grammar, making correct references to facts, culture, and history and accurately depicting the information they have gathered in research. • Students will correctly present a current and accurate map of the nation. This requires incorporating a correctly labeled map of the country and its surrounding nations and geographic area. Maps included will be either topographic or political in nature.

  5. Students should include an accurate representation of the country’s official flag and coat of arms including a correct representation of their origin. • Students effectively embed the use of a minimum of five color images or pictures in the physical passport, PowerPoint presentation, graphic novel or the video.
