  2. Sentence Types Simple sentence – Subject, predicate, complete thought. Bob laughed. Complex Sentence – Dependent clause + 1 Independent Clause Because he dropped his phone, Bob laughed . Compound Sentence – Independent + Independent joined with a comma and a fanboy / conjunction. Bob went to lunch, and he brought me his leftovers. Compound complex – independent + Independent + dependent. Before he left work, Bob went to lunch, and he brought me his leftovers.
