  2. Class Materials • Supplies you need in class EVERYDAY • Pen or pencil • Notebook • You will have open-notebook pop quizzes! • Homework assignments

Class Rules • Be on time • 4 tardies = detention • Respect others • Listen while I am talking • No talking or whispering • If you have a question, raise your hand and wait until you are called on • Technology only for academic purposes • I will confiscate devices being used for other purposes • Listen to classmates • Think about what is being said • Discipline • First Offense: I will talk with you • Second Offense: I will contact your parent • Third Offense: I will write you up

Class Procedures • Bell Ringers • When bell rings, you should be in your chair completing the warm-up • Complete on your own with no talking if individual warm-up • Participate with your group if group warm-up • Lesson • Take notes using PowerPoint as a guide • Unless otherwise noted, you should be taking notes when I am talking • Activity • Work quietly (no talking!) unless otherwise noted • Stay in chair until bell rings • Do NOT line up at the door • Class time is NOT for • Grade checking (do this on your own at home or in the library) • Chatting with friends (do this on your own time)

  8. Timeline Activity • With your table, assemble the pieces in chronological order. • Absolutely NO technology or notes! Use your brains! • Think back to 8th grade for some of these. • If you don’t know the answer, think about any associations you have with the era and make an educated guess. • Everyone must participate! • The first team with all the pieces in the proper places wins!
