Management vs. Leadership • Management is not something you do to other people • You mange your inventory, your checkbook, your resources • You mange things, you lead people Leadership: The skill of influencing people to work enthusiastically toward goals identified as being for the common good.A CHOICE HED 362 – L.   4. TWO DYNAMICS • Promotions are often based on task-related abilities. • If relationships are so important, what is the most important ingredient? Key is accomplishing the tasks at hand while building relationships. HED 362 – L. Good

  17. EFFORT/LOVE (the verb) I don’t necessarily have to like my players and associates but as the leader, I must love them. Love is loyalty, love is teamwork, love respects the dignity of the individual. This is the strength of any organization. Vince Lombardi HED 362 – L. Good
