MODERATOR Moderator (pemandu) bertugas memandu jalannya seminar, mengatur arus tanya jawab antara presenter dengan peserta seminar. • PRESENTER Presenter (pemakalah) bertugas untuk menyampaikan isi makalah atau presentasi secara jelas kepada peserta seminar. • SECRETARY Secretary (notulen) bertugas membuat summary atau ringkasan makalah yang disampaikan oleh presenter termasuk juga ringkasan jawaban yang disampaikannya pada sesi tanya jawab. Ringkasan tersebut dibaca sebelum penutupan.

  3. MODERATOR • Lancar (fluent) dan jelas lafal bicaranya (pronounciation). • Baik dan benar tata bahasanya (grammar). • Menguasai cukup banyak kosakata (vocabulary) yang berhubungan dengan topik yang akan disajikan.

  4. Sebelum Penyampaian Makalah • Short Introduction (MODERATOR) Good morning ladies and gentlemen, my name is Faisal, Akbar Faisal, and I have a great honor to be the moderator in this seminar, today.

  5. 2. Membaca Biodata (Curriculum Vitae) dari Presenter (MODERATOR) Example: Ladies and Gentlemen, in this very special occasion, I would like to introduce the speaker (presenter) to you. His name is Mr. Hassan, Abu Hassan, he is from Semarang, and he works in Sentosa Jaya Company. Mr. Hassan graduated from Sydney University, Australia, majoring in Business Management. Now, he is responsible for leading and managing the company. Today, Mr. Hassan would like to introduce new product in our company. • Mr. Hassan, please! • Mr. Hassan, would you please! • Mr. Hassan, the floor is yours!

  6. Contoh soal: Siang ini, moderator harus memperkenalkan pembicara yang bernama Muhammad Ali, seorang dosen yang mengajar di Fakultas Sastra di Universitas Indonesia (UI), Jakarta. Pak Ali lulusan UI pada tahun 1990 dan menyelesaikan program S2 di Mc Quary University Australia. Disamping mengajar di UI, pak Ali juga aktif menulis di beberapa surat kabar seperti; Kompas, The Jakarta Post, Tempo, dsb. Pada kesempatan ini Pak Ali mau menyampaikan makalah berjudul: The Role of Literature in Foreign Language Study.

  7. B. Saat Penyampaian Makalah • Self Introduction (PRESENTER) Ladies and Gentlemen, it’s an honor to have the opportunity to address such a distinguished audience; my name is Hassan, Abu Hassan. I’m working in Sentosa Jaya Company. My position is the director of this company, and I am responsible for leading and managing the company. OR Welcome to Sentosa Jaya Company. I know I’ve met some of you, but just for the benefit of those, I haven’t. My name is Hassan, Abu Hassan, my position is the director of the company, and I am responsible for leading and managing the company.

Introducing Topic/ Title (PRESENTER) • I’d like to talk to you today about new product in our company. • I’m going to present the recent progress of new product in our company. • I’m going to explain a little bit about new product in our company. • I’m going to brief you on new product in our company. • I’m going to inform you about new product in our company. • I’m going to describe new product in our company. • The subject of my talk is new product in our company. • The topic of my speech is new product in our company.

  12. C. Setelah Penyampaian Makalah • Ending the Presentation and Open Q&A Session. (MODERATOR) Thank you Mr. Hassan. Ladies and Gentlemen, that was the presentation from Mr. Hassan with the topic of new product in our company. Now, let’s continue to the session Questions and Answers. Before you ask questions or give comments, please raise your hand, mention your name. For the first session, I’d like to give it to three people.
