  1. Welcome to Senior Project

  2. The Project The intent of the Senior Project is for each student to produce a physical object that is linked to a new learning experience. This physical object can be inspired by but is not limited to: outside interests new opportunities future plans

  3. The Project • You can create a physical object by • Building • Designing • Participating towards a certification or training • A project is considered ‘physical’ if… I can set my project down for all to view. If I were not participating, the project cannot be altered. My contribution and impact to the project is measurable and noticible.

  4. The Project What the project is not. Job shadowing – NO IMPACT Attending meetings, workshops, etc. – NO IMPACT Coaching an existing team – NO IMPACT Creating a brochure, ad, etc. – TIME CONSTRAINT Going on a trip – NO IMPACT One-time events – NO EVIDENCE/TIME CONSTRAINT

  5. The Project Q. Do I qualify for early approval? The answer is YES if… • The event occurs only in the summertime • The project needs to be started for seasonal purposes • Extra time is needed to complete the project • The mentor/resources are only available in the summertime

  6. The Project • Q. Do I qualify for early approval? The answer is NO if… The project is not contingent on season Students or parents just want to “get it done” Project can feasibly be accomplished within school year No justification for summer start is provided
