  6. Project objectives • Test gender analysis tools across range of programmes • Identify value added from gender analysis • Examine capacity of departments to do gender analysis • Contribute to broader gender equality objectives

  7. How are we doing it? • Supported by Chief Secretary to Treasury and DTI Secretary of State • Launched in joint letter to pilot departments • HMT project management • Women’s Budget Group secondee • Technical Advisors • Guidance for departments

  8. What will we do with the outcomes? • Advice to Chief Secretary and DTI Secretary of State • Lessons for wider use of gender analysis • Implications for public expenditure processes
