Our Work with Patients: Core Values • All patients have the right to: • Access information about prevention and treatment of their disease and about maintaining their health. • Participate in their health care. • Find support for managing their own and their family members' health care. • Learn about prevention and treatment options that respect their diverse backgrounds and needs. • Within their ability, patients have a responsibility to: • Manage their condition or disease. • Understand and respect the unique roles and abilities of the physician, nurse and other members of their health care team. • Communicate their expectations for care to their health care teams.
