  8. The Persuasive Essay √ Supporting details to support the thesis statement. Cats are loyal companions. Cats are less demanding than dogs. Cats can take care of themselves. Now let’s look at the introductory paragraph…..

  9. The Persuasive Essay: Introductory Paragraph Did you know that cats make wonderful pets? There are certain factors one must consider before getting a pet, but if you are looking for a pet, cats are the preferred choice. Let me explain. Cats provide owners the affection and

  10. The Introductory Paragraph Continued… loyalty pet owners seek, and yet they are relatively easy to take care of. They are so much easier to care for than dogs! So if you are looking for a pet, consider getting a furry feline instead of a dog for your next companion!

  11. The Body of the Essay 3 Supporting Details: Cats are loyal companions. Cats are less demanding than dogs. Cats can take care of themselves.

  12. Each of the points listed will turn into 3 complete paragraphs where I explain them with more detail: (1st Paragraph) Cats are loyal companions. Affectionate and loving Wait for you patiently Gentle and comforting

  13. 1st Paragraph: • Imagine coming home after a long hard day at school, entering the house to find your soft, purring, loyal feline just sitting there waiting for you? A loyal friend to greet you at the door! They are not jumping up on you as a dog would. Watch out if the dog is big! It will knock you right off your feet and then slobber you with wet kisses until you can get out

  14. 1st Paragraph Continued: from under its grip! Unlike a dog, your cat will wait patiently for you to pick it up. When you do, it will cuddle up to your body with comforting purrs letting you know you are loved. Felicity with, Katie, my daughter. Hugs after a long day!

  15. Writing The Persuasive Essay (2nd Paragraph) 2. Cats are less demanding than dogs. Eating habits Need less space Not destructive

  16. 2nd Paragraph: Although your cat requires attention and care, it will be easy to do. A cat needs food and water like all pets. However, unlike dogs, cats will not eat everything in sight! They will pick at their food when they are hungry. You will only need to make sure they have food and fresh water everyday. On the other hand, dogs will eat more than

  17. 2nd Paragraph Continued: they should, so you have to monitor feeding closely. When they need you they will let you know by loud, sometimes, ear-piercing barks. A cat’s meow is not near as annoying. Cats love attention, too, but dogs will destroy things if they are neglected. They can chew furniture and can be very destructive if they are upset.

  18. 2nd Paragraph Continued: Dogs need to get outside everyday for exercise. They need space and have energy to burn. Cats, on the other hand, need less space and can do very well inside, even in small apartments. They can entertain themselves all day long!

  19. Body of the Essay… I showed you the 1st two paragraphs to model the process for you. It is not necessary to show you the 3rd paragraph. This process will help you get started on your own essay.

  20. The Concluding Paragraph Writing Use the guideline attached below to write your Concluding paragraph for your essay. Concluding Paragraph

  21. The Persuasive Essay Writing √ Concluding paragraph brings it all together Remember this paragraph restates your thesis statement and your feelings on the topic using different verbs.

  22. The Concluding Paragraph As you can see, cats do make wonderful pets! They are so easy to care for. They are patient, loving, and loyal pets. I think everyone should consider having a furry feline pet to love. They give so much and require so little Writing

  23. The Concluding Paragraph Continued… Writing in return. Unless you have allergies, I suggest your next pet should definitely be a cat! You won’t be disappointed. Have fun choosing the right one for you! Meow!

  24. The Persuasive Essay Writing It is not hard to turn each of the points you listed on your graphic organizer into paragraphs if you are clear with what you want to say. The graphic organizer is the key to guide you to success!

  28. 2. What connections did you make with this chapter? What questions do you have? Share your connections and questions in the Discussion Forum with others taking this course! Here are some questions I want you to reflect on in your journal:

  29. What was the covenant God made with Abraham? Why did God declare Abram as, “Set-Right-with-God”? How would you describe Abram’s relationship to God? What support do you have for that? (-use any of the readings in Genesis to support your thinking.) Remember to support your answers and show your thinking!
