  1. Meet the Champions Debby Davis Championship Flight

  2. Debby DavisChampionship Flight • When did you begin golfing? • I took up golf on January 1, 1995 as a New Year’s resolution. I had always wanted to play and thought it would be a good social/networking activity. • Current or Former Profession • I am currently Vice President of Corporate Client Services for Goldleaf Financial Solutions. We provide software solutions for financial institutions.

  3. Debby DavisChampionship Flight • In what other hobbies/interests are you involved ? • I belong to the Central Florida Working Women’s Tennis League (CFWWTL) and a summer tennis league. We play on Thursday nights all over Central Florida. There are several members in our EWGA chapter that belong to the CFWWTL. Maybe someday we’ll do a golf/tennis weekend! I also enjoy reading, movies and the beach.

  4. Debby DavisChampionship Flight • What is your favorite course to play? • I really enjoy Grand Pines and Mystic Dunes golf courses here in Central Florida, but I have a real passion for playing golf courses in Arizona • What is your favorite club in your bag? • My driver

  5. Debby DavisChampionship Flight • Have you advanced to either Semi or Final Championship level previously? If so, tell us about your experience. • I’ve advanced to the semi-finals and finals on several occasions. The first was in 2000. I went with a bunch of the gals to Kiawah Island. I wasn’t a participant, but wow did I ever have the best time and it got me hooked on the idea of competing and traveling to some really cool places with a bunch of awesome women who like to have a good time on and off the golf course. So after that, I made it to the finals in Palm Springs CA for the 2001 Finals. Then again in 2003, I made it all the way to Scottsdale, AZ, and won my flight, which gave me automatic entry into the finals for the next year, 2004 in Nashville, TN. Then in 2008 I advanced to play in Portland, OR. Wow, wow and double wow! It was just another really awesome trip. I love collecting the memories!

  6. Debby DavisChampionship Flight • What good luck charm or special routine will you use at the Semi-final/Final rounds? • It seems to change from event to event. I might carry a particular good luck stone or special ball marker or wear an outfit that I’ve won in or eat the same foods the night before…the list goes on and on! However, there is one constant. At one of the annual conferences in Tucson, AZ, we had a clinic with Pia Nilsson and Lynn Marriott who worked with Annika Sorenstam for many years. I’m a firm believer in their book, “Every Shot Must Have a Purpose.” If you don’t have it, I encourage you to buy it and read it over and over. This is my go-to book the week before a big tournament.

  7. Debby DavisChampionship Flight • How did you become involved with the EWGA? • I saw an ad in one of the golf magazines for EWGA. I learned about the organization and called the hotline to become a member. It was January 2000 and the chapter was pretty small back then. It has been an awesome journey watching it grow and seeing so many women along the way find not only their games, but lifelong friendships. • What might others be interested/surprised to know about you. • I’m pretty much an open book, so I don’t know that there are too many things others might not know about me.
