  3. To lead the uptake of e-health systems of national significance; and coordinate the progression and accelerate the adoption of e-health by delivering urgently needed integration infrastructure and standards for health information. NEHTA’s Purpose

Getting the Sector Connected • Over the next 2 years the sector will be supported in taking up a common approach to secure online connectivity • Based on internet standards and secure authentication • Vendors can be certified, so providers can buy software with confidence • Incentives are provided to help GPs with the burden of upgrading • NEHTA will have connectivity projects with every State and Territory

  9. e-health and nursing Increasingly health information will be electronic Nurses will need skills to access and use this information Nurses can help refine and develop e-health solutions Adopt ‘e-health compliant’ IT systems (ask NEHTA)
