Kupił ruiny pałacu w Polsce Chwilę później postanowił tutaj żyć, a nawet umrzeć. Dlaczego został w Polsce? • Wy wciąż macie tu prawdziwą naturę. • Tam, na Zachodzie, są pieniądze. Tu, w Polsce, jest życie. • Widzę tutaj ludzi, którzy może i mają skromne możliwości, ale potrafią dobrze żyć. Dobrze, wcale nie znaczy bogato, tylko tak, żeby mieć ciepłą atmosferę, kumpli, rodzinę. 12. Cudzoziemcy, którzy związali się z Polską na dobre i złe. Francis Lapp • Francuz, właściciel firmy budującej luksusowe katamarany. W latach 90. przyjechał do Polski na rajd samochodowy. Dwa tygodnie później spakował cały swój świat z Alzacji i wrócił tu na stałe. Dlaczego został w Polsce? Kraj był jeszcze zniszczony, biedny, a pustki na sklepowych półkach wciąż straszyły, ale widziałem w ludziach niesamowitą kreatywność i chęć działania.   Podczas kryzysu Hiszpanie i Grecy załamują ręce i obrażają się na system. Polacy walczą i szukają rozwiązań, które pomogą im przetrwać. Wyjadą za granicę, będą pracowali więcej albo poszukają innowacji. Wiem, że wstydzicie się tego dzikiego brzegu, ale dla mnie to niesamowite, że mogę stanąć z wędką w centrum miasta, a ponad spławikiem zobaczyć Stare Miasto i warszawskie drapacze chmur. To chyba jedyne takie miejsce w Europie. • Są u was setki miejsc, od gór, przez jeziora, po morze, które są właściwie nietknięte ludzką ręką.
