  2. The SSHH campaign sees groups of students working alongside Ormskirk Police. The team patrol St Helens Rd, Knowsley Rd, Ruff lane each Tues/Weds night between 22:30 – 03:00 Aim – to reduce Anti Social Behaviour and Noise Complaints from the Campus/Town – Town/Campus 8 Volunteers Work tirelessly helping their community showing dedication and commitment Remember Think about your Neighbours. S.S.H.HSilent Students Happy Homes

The aim of the campaign is to encourage students to take steps that will reduce their vulnerability when consuming alcohol; dispel some of the myths about offences of rape and serious sexual assaults. Crime is low in Lancashire and the chances of becoming a victim of rape or sexual assault are extremely low, but don’t put yourself at risk. USE YOUR NUT

  4. Pace your drinks, have a soft drink in between. Eat before you drink. Look out for your mates. Keep your wits about you,( most rapes are committed by someone you know.) Getting home is more important than one last drink. Tips to keep yourself safe

  5. Crime Prevention Ensure all windows and doors to your accommodation are locked Don’t invite anyone back to your room you don’t know. Don’t make it easy for a burglar to get into your accommodation.

  6. Crime Prevention Keep your valuables safe & secure eg laptops Mark property using a uv pen with your name & student i.d. Lock & Secure your vehicle Join the University Campus Watch Scheme

  7. Carry a personal attack alarm Be aware of your surroundings & don’t take shortcuts. Don’t advertise your mobile telephone to thieves. If your gut says there is trouble ahead there probably is…..get somewhere safe. Personal Safety

  8. Don’t let the minority spoil it for the majority & create a bad impression amongst the local community. Don’t involve yourself in criminal activity eg damaging other peoples property & disorderly behaviour. Personal Responsibilities

  9. Do not use or sell drugs. Do not involve yourself in antisocial behaviour which includes:- shouting, swearing, overturning bins etc. The Police & University exchange data on a regular basis. If you do commit an offence the University will be informed. Personal Responsibilities
