Ilias Atwani Is an Expert in the Field Of Mineral and Mining Engineering Ilias Atwani is a seasoned mining industry professional who has been actively working in the field of mineral and mining engineering from the past several years. He is currently working for a senior Canadian gold mining firm in its mine operations department. His role in the company is that of a Mine Operations Coordinator that allows him to put his skills into practice such as Microsoft Office® Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio…), Mining Oriented Operational Analysis/Modeling, Programming, and Management and Logistics. Ilias Atwani has graduated from the prestigious Laval University in the subject of mineral and mining engineering. He also holds an additional bachelor’s degree in Mathematical Sciences from the Prince Mly Abdallah High School — Casablanca. As he believes in lifelong learning and feels that the best way to be successful is to empower yourself with knowledge, he makes sure to stay current with all the recent developments in the mining industry. Besides that, he is also enrolled in an executive master of business administration program at Laval University. Talking about Ilias Atwani’s professional journey, he started out as an intern in the mining engineering department of a Meknes, Morocco based company in 2008. His job responsibilities included assisting operators underground in their daily activities, and handling the equipment used underground under the supervision of foremen and operators. Working closely with seasoned mining professionals gave him first-hand exposure to underground supervising that helped him a lot in his career. Later, he also interned with a British-Swiss multinational commodity trading and mining company in their Mining Engineering Department for over 6 years. Here, he established weekly schedules & planning; managed Volumetric reconciliation & adjustment of excavated and blasted roc quantities; issued drilling, loading and blasting plans; and took care of 3D design & Survey data processing, and other operations.
