Ilias Atwani Learned A Lot About Traditional Life and Social Organization in Inuit Culture Through Noah

The first thing Ilias Atwani observed as he entered the town was that Noah and his family lived in one of the many small communities numbering several households. Upon enquiry, he came to know that out of the few hundred people an Inuk encounters in his lifetime, most of these would be relatives of one kind or another. He was overwhelmed looking at Noah's wife look after a girl while her mother was out working. Noah's wife also shed some light on how even though walking used to be the most common form of transport earlier, most Inuit use snowmobiles to travel on the land these days. Ilias also got to live this experience when Noah took him on a snowmobile expedition.

The opportunity did not only give him the joy of knowing about the rich heritage of the Inuit culture, but also allowed him to spend plenty of time with Noah, the local guide and his family learning heaps about the traditional life and social organization in their culture.
