  1. Medicine for Cholesterol Helps to Keep the Cholesterol Level Low Cholesterol is one of the most searched subjects on the internet. Hardly any adult could be found in your city who has not heard the term. Cholesterol is a fat-like substance and a bit waxy that floats in the blood and performs many important activities in the body. Though you may know cholesterol as the number one enemy of the human body, it’s not altogether. Cholesterol is bad when its volume in the blood goes above a certain level. In that case, you need a medicine for cholesterol to lower the volume and keep it at a safe level. Cholesterol helps to develop cell membranes, Vitamin D, and some vital hormones. It’s good for the body but too much of it makes the condition worse. Types of cholesterol Two types of cholesterols are present in the human body – Low Density Lipoprotein (LDL) and High Density Lipoprotein (HDL). Cholesterol in the bloodstream is carried through lipoproteins which are spherical jelly-like substances.

  2. LDL is also known as “Bad cholesterol” while HDL is known as “Good cholesterol”. As the name suggests, bad cholesterol is bad for your body. It can form plaques in the arteries leading to a higher risk of heart attack, stroke, or ganglion. Good cholesterol or HDL can absorb the extra cholesterol from the body and send it back to the liver. The liver then flushes it out of the body systematically. The human body needs HDL but not LDL. To lower LDL, the body sometimes needs medicine for cholesterol. How to lower bad cholesterol? First of all, you have to follow a healthy lifestyle with sufficient sleep, exercise, and healthy food. You should stop smoking immediately and regulate alcohol intake. Your doctor may suggest you some medications in case you have comorbidities like hyperglycemia and hypertension. You cannot avoid LDL altogether as it forms in the body naturally but you have to keep it under control so that it cannot do any harm to you. Check your cholesterol level regularly If you are above forty, you should undergo lipid profile screening once every year. Lipid profile screening includes LDL, HDL, and triglyceride in the blood. Triglyceride is another fatty substance in the blood having multiple functions but higher than normal levels can cause heart blockage and other diseases. However, your doctor may ask you to check it more frequently in case you are detected with high cholesterol. The ideal LDL level is 70-100mg/dl but above 170mg/dl may require medicine for cholesterol. The normal level of HDL is 40-60mg/dl. Your HDL level should not go below 40mg/dl. In homeopathy, some good and effective medicines are available for controlling cholesterol. Doctors prescribe the medicines depending on the lipid profile test and comorbidities. Doctors also advise for lifestyle changes and healthy food habits.
