  4. NEASC: School Improvement Assumptions 2. Central Assumption:premium on intra-school alignment and collaboration; • v. our work of late to promote alignment and collaboration within departments;

  5. NEASC: School Improvement Assumptions 2. Premium on intra-school alignment and collaboration; • ‘Isolation’: chief impediment to sustained school improvement;

  6. NEASC: School Improvement Assumptions • Conversely, adult work that is focused and mutually reinforcing is the primary engine of school improvement

  7. NEASC: School Improvement Assumptions • Challenge: to build common understandings and working relationships beyond dept. boundaries.

  10. Today’s Task: Assessment Standard • Two levels: • Opportunity to self-assess; what is the current state of our work to improvement student outcomes? • Opportunity to imagine this type of work happening across dept boundaries.
