  1. Areas of Parallelograms and Trapezoids Objective: Learn to find the area of parallelograms and trapezoids.

  2. To find the area of a parallelogram you must multiply the base times the height. Find the area of each parallelogram. Formula: Area = base × height or A = b × h Example 1 : Example 2:

  3. To find the area of a trapezoid you have to add the two bases, multiply by the height, and the result divide it by two. Find the area for each trapezoid. Formula: Area = (base 1 + base 2) × height 2 A = (b1 + b2)h 2 Example 1: Example 2:

  4. Homework: Find the area of each trapezoid. Find the area of the parallelograms.
