  3. Locations of Species • Dig Sites in October 1891 • Trinil, Indonesia • China • Africa • Discovered by Eugene DuBois • Artifacts and bones can be found in: • Africa • Asia • Europe

  4. Physical Characteristics • Males were about 5’10” and Females were about 5’1” • Long gradually sloping foreheads, somewhat flat at the front and back. • Short wide faces with noses projected forward • Thick brow ledges • Believed to have experienced heavy physical exertion

  5. Similarities with us • Similar skeleton to modern man, also clearly heavily muscled like me. • Close to similar heights • Homo erectus humans look a lot like gorillas
