Objectives? • Prior to 2016 at UALR, WPA Outcomes Statement: • Rhetorical Knowledge • Critical Thinking, Reading, and Composing • Processes • Knowledge of Conventions • Now, University-specific Programmatic Course Learning Objectives (CLOs): • Streamlined version of WPA • Six objectives (A-F)

  3. Course Learning Objective A • “Demonstrate basic rhetorical ability by completing texts for at least 3 different rhetorical situations, with each one written appropriately for that context. (E.g., personal essay, literacy narrative, exploratory source-based paper.)” • Keywords/concepts • rhetorical situation/context • “written appropriately”
