  1. What is cPanelID? cPanelID refers to an integrated set of credentials, which can be used by customers for logging in to different cPanel services and websites. It proves to be beneficial and very useful by ensuring a reduction in the number of usernames and passwords that need to be remembered for various systems, such as the cPanel Ticket system, the cPanel Store, or the Manage2 billing system. cPanelID uses OpenID standards for enabling cross-platform authentication and logins. cPanelID can be used to log in to the below-mentioned resources. The cPanel Ticket system The cPanel Store The Manage2 billing system cPanelID-linked WHM, cPanel, or Webmail accounts on those servers, which use External Authentication and version 54 or higher of cPanel & WHM. It needs to be specified here that cPanel & WHM doesn’t allow currently the navigation from your server to the cPanel Store without the need to log in again. Obtaining a cPanelID All those that have cPanel & WHM licence, possess a cPanelID by default. cPanel, WHM, or Webmail users need to register to obtain a cPanelID. Either of the below-mentioned methods can be used to obtain a cPanelID. Click Log in Via cPanelID in the cPanel, WHM, or Webmail login interface. After that you need to click Register. Navigate to the cPanel Tickets System Registration page. Enter your email address there. A confirmation link will be emailed by the system to that address.

  2. It needs to be mentioned here that in order to add your name, address, and other information to your cPanelID account, you need to log in to the cPanel Store, and then update your profile. You should navigate to the cPanel Tickets System Registration page to recover a cPanelID password. Then you need to enter the email address of the account. A password reset link will be emailed by the system to that address. cPanelID and External Authentication External authentication through cPanelID ensures better integration between cPanel & WHM and other systems, which include purchases and installation of products and licences via the cPanel Store. You must access your cPanel, WHM, and Webmail accounts through an SSL connection, in order to use an external authentication method. The Log in via cPanelIDoption won’t display in the login interface, if you don’t access your accounts through an SSL connection. It needs to be noted that cPanelID is not the cPanelID External Authentication identity provider. cPanelID is a combination of a username and password. The CPanelID External Authentication identity provider enables you to link that cPanelID to your WHM, cPanel, or Webmail account, and subsequently log in. The CPanelID External Authentication identity provider can be disabled by the system administrators. This can be done via the Manage External Authentications interface in WHM. WHM >> Home >> Security Center>> Manage External Authentication. If this provider is disabled, then users can continue to log in to your server. They can purchase as well as install SSL certificates. Moreover, they can perform administrative, and user tasks with the aid of the existing functions. Points Worth Mentioning 2FA (Two-factor Authentication) and External Authentication can be used simultaneously by accounts. Whenever a user logs in, the system requests the one-time 2FA code, post authentication, via the External Authentication account. In the event that the External Authentication account also uses 2FA, then you need to authenticate through that provider. This is in addition to any 2FA that had been configured on your server. SSL certificates can be purchased by the users with the aid of the cPanelID username and password. This can be attained through the SSL TLS Wizard interface on cPanel, without any requirement to link cPanelID to your cPanel account. cPanel >> Home >> SSL/TLS >> SSL/TLS Wizard. cPanelID and cPanel Store Referral Fees

  3. The reseller of a customer earns the referral fee for those certificates that are bought by the customer through the cPanel Store. You need to transfer customers to a root-enabled reseller, if you don’t wish to connect your root user to cPanelID. The following steps should be carried out for this purpose: Use the interface, Create a New Account in WHM, in order to create the account. WHM >> Home >> Account Functions >> Create a New Account. Then select the option, Make the account a reseller.  The interface in WHM, Edit Reseller Nameservers and Privileges, should be used for setting the appropriate permissions with regard to the new reseller. WHM >> Home >> Resellers >> Edit Reseller Nameservers and Privileges The Reseller Center interface of WHM needs to be used for transferring customers to the reseller account. WHM >> Home >> Resellers >> Reseller Center. You need to be aware of reseller resources while transferring accounts between resellers, such as nameservers, shared IP addresses, etc. Prior to concluding, let us touch upon reseller hosting.
