  1. Crocodilians(The term refers to 23 species including alligators, caimans, crocodiles, and gharials!)

  2. Fun facts • • Crocodilians keep growing all their lives.• A croc's tongue doesn't move—it's attached to the bottom of its mouth.• All crocs store fat in their tails, so they can go for quite a while without eating if necessary—as long as two years for some big adults!

  3. How doth the little crocodileImprove his shining tail,And pour the waters of the NileOn every golden scale! How cheerfully he seems to grin,How neatly spreads his claws,And welcomes little fishes in,With gently smiling jaws!Lewis Caroll (1832 - 1898)from Alice in Wonderland

  4. The easiest way of telling apart crocodiles from alligators, however, is to look at their noses. Alligators (and caimans) have a wide "U"-shaped, rounded snout (like a shovel), whereas crocodiles tend to have longer and more pointed "V"-shaped noses.

  5. This project will: • Help us learn about crocodilians • Help us improve our cutting and folding skills • Teach us about paper sculpture
