  3. Assessment of Production: Kharif 2011 • Based on quick assessment of 5000 villages. • Total food grain production likely to go 170 lakh mt. 3

  4. TARGET : RABI 2011-12 • 6.00% Proposed increase in Wheat Production • 9.74% Proposed increase in Food Grain Production

  5. Productivity Targets of Rabi 11-12 Qtls/ha

  6. Strategy • Ensuring adequate quantity of quality seeds, high yielding varieties in wheat growing areas. Details of 39.05 lakh qtls. Wheat seeds given below: PBW-343 is gradually being reduced from 10.70 lakh qtls .in 2009-10 to 4.17 lakh qtls. in 2011-12. • 75% sowing of wheat has been targeted to be completed by 30th November and rest by 10th December. • Line sowing in 15 lakh ha.. Availibility of ferti seed drill/zerotill seed drill is being ensured.

  7. Weedicide for 37.97 lakh ha. made available for weed control. • Promotion of zero-till-seed-cum-fertilizer drill. List of 2500 beneficiaries prepared and training is going on. • Special arrangements to safeguard against yellow rust in Tarai region. Availability of propiconazole is ensured. • Tie up with CIMMYT in organizing demonstration and training of officers/ farmers for ridge furrow sowing and conservation tillage and also providing promising line of wheat for further multiplication at University farms. • Encouraging the balanced use of fertilizers as per soil test and also the use of organic matter and bio-fertilizers like PSB culture. • Use of soil ameliorates like gypsum for reclaiming soils having high pH. • Encouraging efficient on farm water management. • Bringing more area under micro irrigation sprinkler & drip irrigation, especially in Buldelkhand region. • Distribution of 5 crore packets of PSB culture by private sector.

  8. Seed • Raising Seed Replacement Rate from 31.67 % to 39.59% based on certified seeds only. . • 8.67 lakh qtl additional seeds being distributed. • Seed availability ensured. 8

  9. Fertilizer Fertilizer distribution to be increased by 23.00 % . During the peak sowing time of rabi, availability of Phosphatic fertilizers always a problem. ( in Lakh M.T.) 9

  10. Crop Loan (Rs in Crores) Increase of 41.7% over last years achievement K C C • KCC distribution is being taken up on saturation approach. • Against the target of 64.5 lakh 27.30 lakh application forms submitted to banks. 10

  11. Soil Health • Apni mitti pahchane abhiyan proposed on 26th,30th Sep., and 7th October, 2011 in Jhansi, Chitrakootdham, Vindhyachal Division and 7th October, 3rd & 10th November, 2011 in rest of the Divisions. • Recommendation of balanced use of fertilizer through soil health cards before Rabi sowing. • Distribution of PSB Culture- a major campaign to distribute more than 5 crore packets with the help of private sector. 11

  12. Plant Protection • 100% seed treatment . • Promotion of Bio-pesticides/Bio-agents. • 2011-12 declared as Weed Free Year.

  13. Technology Dissemination 3 to 5 days Kisan Mela in each Agro Climatic Zone planned. More than 6.5 lakh farmers expected to participate. Campaign to cover 15 lakh ha. area under Line Sowing. Strengthening of village level knowledge network planned with the help of KVK’s and SAU’s. Strengthening network of SAUs. KVKs, KGKs, extension agencies, farmers and farmer organizations. Monthly action points being advised to farmer through Krishi Chintan and ATMA Sandesh. SMS being posted in each Nyay Panchyat for extension of technology. Honouring leading Farmers on Kisan Samman Divas at State & District level. Skilled man power for maintenance and use of Farm Machinery.

  14. Mechanization • Popularizing Multi Crop Planter and Raised Bed Planter . • 2.00 lakhs implements are proposed for distribution under Macro Mode And NFSM scheme. • Details of modern implements distribution-

  15. Provision of Sprinkler and drip irrigation system in Bundelkhand to SC/ST& SMF on Govt. cost and on 75% subsidy to other category Farmers Micro Irrigation

  16. NFSM : Budget Position (Lakh Rs.) • Release of Rs. 11851.16 lakh for Wheat Component and Rs. 4340.67 lakh for Pulse Component is requested.

Issues • Demand of fertilizer must be met. • Banks to be directed for issuing KCC. • Release of 137 crores under RKVY for energization of tube wells should be ensured as recommended by SLSC. • Sanction may be released as per SLSC approval for scheme of In situ conservation moisture under sub-schemes of 60000 pulse villages in rainfed areas • Additional funds for Bundelkhand Package should be released on priority basis. • Steps to control Blue Bulls should be expedited. • Release of Rs. 3501.96 lakh under NPMSHF for 17 districts.
