  1. Ping Pong Young Liu

  2. Ping Pong aka Table Tennis • 2 or 4 player game • Hit lightweight hollow ball back and fourth with rackets (paddles) over nets • Except for the initial serve, the ball must bounce once on each player’s side before hitting it • Points are scored when one player fails to return the ball or the ball did not bounce on their side

  3. Holding Ping Pong Paddles • 2 Different styles • Shakehands Grip • Penhold Grip

  4. Ping Pong Strokes • Forehand Drives

  5. Ping Pong Strokes • Forehand push : similar to a tennis slice, the paddle cuts underneath the ball putting a backspin and causing the ball to float slowly to the other side of the table

  6. Ping Pong Strokes • Block: A block stroke is made by simply putting the paddle in front of the ball so that the ball rebounds back toward the opponent with nearly just as much energy it came with.

  7. Ping Pong Strokes • Smash: When the player’s opponent returns a ball that bounces too high, they would usually execute a smash. • Large back swing and rapid acceleration putting as much speed as possible on the ball.

  8. Footwork • Ready position: position yourself so that you are always just slightly to the left of the table . This will give you the best chance of being able to reach the ball no matter where your opponent hits it. • Shuffle: When rallying, you would simply shuffle right or left around the table

  9. Serving • Top-Spin Serve: You slide your paddle over the top of the ball as you hit it. When hit properly and with force, the ball will actually curve downward in its flight and then skip forward after it hits the table. • Back-spin Serve: Slide the paddle under the ball
