  1. The most imaginative hotels are being developed in and around the world. Be it treetop hideaways or underwater hotels; new properties are pushing the boundaries of what a typical hotel experience used to feel like. No matter how innovative the hotel is, still there are some basic requirements that every hotel should meet, to make the experience of their guests welcoming and comforting. Here is a list of basic expectations from Beirut hotels: Basic and an essential requirement of a hotel is cleanliness. No matter what the hotel is, or where it is located, it must have the highest cleanliness standards which offer clean public spaces, bathrooms, bedrooms, and other amenities. While it is an important initiative, recycling must not give way to the lack of hygiene.

  2. A hotel is considered as a home away from home. Therefore, this comes with the strong expectation of being safe and secure. Most of the hotels are now focusing on providing personalized safety and security measures for different groups like children, women, and the elderly. Technology plays a vital role in providing better security; still, some guests place more importance on the human touch. A hotel is a place for relaxing, but only if a bed is comfortable enough. So, a bed should be of good quality, clean, and well maintained. It needs to be well positioned in the room to allow proper circulation. Some hotels are even creative with the pillow and blanket offerings, which is great- as long- as the guest feels comfortable with the given choices. The reason this is highlighted as “plumbing” and not just a good shower or hot water is because this concerns the entire bathroom. Hot water or a good shower is of no use if the water is trickling down; lack of proper water flow can be a problem for anyone. Therefore, every hotel should provide clear and potable water, flowing water in the sink and toilets, proper and continuous hot running water, and of course no leaks.

  3. A hotel typically works on the standard “answer in three rings” policy. Unfortunately, this doesn’t happen as often as it is expected to. Sometimes the call is directed ta an agent who doesn’t have the proper information, or is rather there just to answer the call and so on to another transfer. Therefore, every hotel must assign a qualified agent who is efficient enough to answer all the queries of the guests and guide them properly. No matter what the hotel is, a high-end Beirut hotel is or a small lodge; it is expected to greet every guest with a warm welcome, a friendly face, attentive services, and a heartfelt thanks.
