What is the PACE Network? “Professional Activities Committees for Engineers” • A grassroots network of IEEE volunteers and committees • organized at the section and chapter level in the U.S. • with support from IEEE-USA and their respective regions/sections. • The goal is to • promote the professional interests of IEEE's U.S. members • provide a mechanism for communication of members' views on their professional needs.   4. 2009 allocation PACE projects $12,030.36 Travel to IEEE-USA Annual Meeting (SLC) $5015.24 Special funding for GOLD travel $5,000 TOTAL: $22,045.60 2009 expense report PACE projects $11,975.24 Travel to IEEE-USA Annual Meeting $5040.00 Special funding for GOLD travel $4,000 TOTAL: $21,015.24 IEEE-USA Funding & Expenditure 25% of Project Funds used to fund delegates’ travel. We only received $4,000 for GOLD travel. 57% Projects 43% Travel

The “Partnering Paradigm” • Leverage • Affinity Groups (e.g., GOLD, WIE) • Technical Societies (e.g., EMB, EMC, Signal Processing) Huge return on investment!! • Broader audience=greater participation • Networking (with potential employers ) • Opportunity to earn CEU credits • New volunteers recruit
