  2. Meeting Agenda • Purpose: To address the guidelines and procedures for ECAS admission • Discussion Items: 1. ECAS Overview 2. Application Process 3. Student Assemblies 4. Parent Meetings 5. Interviews 6. Acceptance

ECAS Overview • Rigorous and supportive academic program of study • Student will graduate with high school diploma and an Associate of Arts Degree 60 College Hours • Scholarship and funding provided by an agreement between Lone Star College North Harris and Spring ISD with no charge to the families

  4. Application Process • Applications are due on March 1, 2012 • Completed applications should be given to Counselor/Lead Counselor • Counselor/Lead Counselor check application Note: Any partial application will not be considered, any applications received after the due date will be placed on the wait list • Letter of recommendation required

  5. Student Assemblies • Window is from January 17 – January 30 • Presentation will last approximately 30 minutes • 8th grade students only • Students may be assembled in small, medium, large, or classroom groups. Note: Please ensure that all eligible students and parents have access to enrollment and promotional documents. This is critical to ensure equal access and opportunity to apply is provided.

  6. Parent Meeting • Window: January 17 – January 30 • Time: Evenings as determined by schools • Duration: Approximately 1 hour • ECAS will hold a Parent Meeting from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on February 1, 2012 Note: Please refer to your folders for a Parent Meeting schedule

  7. Parent Meeting Accomodations • If a parent can not attend the meeting on your campus, he/she may attend a meeting at any other middle school. • A final Parent Meeting will be held at ECAS on February 1, 2012 from 5:00 – 7:30 to ensure all community members have an opportunity to ask questions and receive information. • All promotional information will be included on the Early College Academy website, earlycollege.springisd.org, if parents can not attend their home campus meeting.

  8. Interviews • Location: Early College Academy at Southridge Campus • Date: Saturday, April 14, 201 (Awaiting LNH Confirmation) • Time: 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. • Content: Write on-site essay; complete basic skills mathematics assessment Note: Please note time for essay and mathematics assessment may change.

  9. Overall Application Timeline • Notification of Interviews Week of March 19 • Notification of Selection Week of May 31 - Letter will be mailed home by May 31 • Acceptance Ceremony TBA • FISH Camp for students TBA – Mandatory Attendance Required • Student and Parent Information Sessions January 17-30, 2012 • ECAS Parent Information Session February 1, 2012 • Applications Due March 1, 2012 • Notification of Eligibility TBA
