  2. 1 Areas of Responsibility Manifesto Pledges • Representation of students on all academic matters to the University and national bodies. • Provide advice on academic matters to students as required. • Ensuring the smooth running of the academic representation system. • Ensuring the smooth running of Student Congress. • Promotion of opportunities for members to improve their future prospects. No more exam bunching 2 All assignments to be submitted electronically Alternative forms of assessment 3 Feedback you can learn from Increased communication between students and staff. 4 Make the class rep community bigger and better • I am the Chair of: • Education Forum Class Reps and other volunteering opportunities recognised on transcripts • I sit on the following University committees: • Court • Senate • Education Strategy Committee • Information Strategy Committee • Library Board Better postgraduate representation

  3. 1 • What I have done so far: • Created HEAR Working Group • Attended the national launch of the HEAR • Lobbied University to work on class catalogue • Worked with VPSW on getting Wednesday afternoon absences for sport waived by Principal • Discussions with HaSS to ensure student access in Lord Hope building • Become a Student Rep Campaign • Hosted Student Congress • Developing the Information Development Framework for Strathclyde • Finished first draft of Learning and Teaching Agreement • Held 2 Education Forums • Helped individual students with issues • Developed new categories for the Teaching Excellence Awards 2013 • Presented at Assessment & Feedback workshop, on what is important to students to University staff • Created a Teaching Excellence Awards pack for transnational students • Contacted University raising the issue of clashes in timetable • Lobbied University to change current printing system 2 3 4

  4. 1 • What I am still working on: • Currently working with Val Belton, Associate Deputy Principal, on a project on PGT student experience • Exam bunching: Coming sooon!!! • Working on developing presentation on Organisation and Management to present to University highlighting issues such as timetabling and communications • Organising Christmas Catch Up for Student Reps • Currently contacting sponsors in regards to hosting a national Student Congress • Teaching Excellence Awards (Managed to get Barony Hall – woop) • HEAR Business Case for funding • Working with University in developing better learning spaces • Course Materials campaign, organising materials and having discussions with University 2 3 4
