  2. Medium Secure Learning Disability Trust On-site and off-site locations over a wide geographical area – Ribble Valley, Manchester, Lancaster Host to ELFS – payroll provider 1500 employees – 40% based offsite ESR “go-live” February 2007 – HR, Payroll, Recruitment

In the beginning Recruitment – centralised HR team already using NHS Jobs, ESR improved efficiency, single data entry, “date track” facility IAT – one of the 1st Trusts to utilise this function Data Quality – data audit, CRB input, quality reports, NHS Central Team for uploads Reasons for Sickness Absence – an area for development Establishment Control & Workstructures – funded establishment versus actual, electronic forms

  4. Adding on - OLM OLM – main benefit is allowing staff/managers to book courses directly via Self Service Back history of data – 12 months of mandatory training data to inform the dashboard Competencies – set at specific levels, mandatory training only at this stage

Adding on – Self Service Manager v Supervisor –all main processes managed by HR already, absence function not required, “trust issue” Supervisor Hierarchies –Band 6 onsite, Band 4/5 in smaller teams, maintenance of supervisors via weekly reports Systems Admin –URP’s, maintaining passwords Smartcards –managed by HR Guide to Self Service

Training and Communication Classroom based training for SSS One to one “mop up” sessions ESS live from June 2010 – team briefed, global e-mail, HR newsletter All training material on Intranet – user guides, PowerPoint demonstrations, captivate sessions Standardized e-mail - includes username / password / PIN, links to training material, supervisor details Guide to Self Service

  8. Follow up Not mandatory but you won’t be able to book a course any other way! Reports – Litigation Authority report, Employee Status NLMS – available to all however limited requirement due to specialist nature of the Trust URP lockdown – all apart from e-learning, Smartcards as requested, shortage of omnikeys!

  9. Interfaces • UIM/ESR – combines HR/RA duties, PBAC, staff only using ESR so straightforward • e-rostering – SMART, use Smartcard, still in project stage • GMC/NMC – real time data changes • e-expenses – managed by Payroll, bi-directional interface with ESR • e-ksf – viable for staff appraisals
