  2. Verbos no Infinitivo • To eat; • To sleep; • To teach; • To live; • To drive; • To drink; • To work; • Etc.

  3. Simple Present • Forma afirmativa: Sujeito + verbo Ex: We work. They play. She watches.

  4. Forma Interrogativa: Auxiliar + sujeito + verbo principal no infinitivo sem o “to”. Ex: Do you sleep? Does he wash? Do they drink?

  5. Forma Negativa: Sujeito + auxiliar negativo + verbo principal no infinitivo sem o “to”. Ex: They don’t work here. He doesn’t sing well.

  6. Usos • Para expressar hábitos, acompanhados de advébios (always, often, frequently, seldom, rarely, etc.): Ex: -They always VISIT their grandparents. - She often DRINKS tea.

  7. Para fatos ou verdades universais: Ex: - Peter doesn’t like jilo. - You are studants.

  8. Pay atention!!!! • Para a terceira pessoa do singular ( he, she, it) os verbos variam na forma d serem escritos. Ex: work – works teach – teaches like – likes

  9. Verbo com terminações simples • Recebem o acréscimos de –s nas suas formas originais. Ex: John likeS pop music. My neighbor singS very badly.

  10. Verbos terminados em –ss, -ch, -sh, -o, -x, e –z. • Recebem o acréscimo de –es no final da palavra. Ex: - Maria missES her cousin. - Marina teachES English. - You brushES your teeth all days.

  11. Verbos terminados em y. • Perdem o y. Recebem o acréscimo de –ies se vierem depois de uma consoante ou receberão apenas –s se vierem depois de uma vogal. Ex: fly – flies say - says

  12. More atention!!! • Each, every, everybody, everyone, somebody, someone, nobody, no one, anybody, anyone, something, much e little são considerados terceiras pessoas do singular. Ex: Everybody lovES John. Nobody understandS Jane.
