Subtask 2: Low Energy Ring(s) RCS (Orsay) • update on first order design • Ejection energy raised to 3.5 GeV proton equivalent • Simulation of multi turn efficiency: performance better than originally estimated LE accumulation ring (non-baseline option) (SU-MSL) • Simulations of electron cooling EURISOL – Coordination Board Meeting

  6. Conclusions Work is progressing according to plan of the Beta-beam task. No deviation from planning • Beta-beam task now concentrates on • All machines: address technical design issues (RF, Vacuum requirements, magnet design etc.) • Improvements for vacuum situation in PS • Collimation in the decay ring (Optics design, simulation of energy deposition ...) • 18Ne shortfall • Feedback on expectations for ion production and beam preparation? • For the further progress of sub-task 2 (RCS, LE accumulation) a first order design of the post accelerator should be addressed.
