  4. Sensory Language Language that uses the five senses • Sight • Sound • Smell • Taste • Touch Example – The acid smell penetrated my nostrils as I breathed deeply. The humidity after the rain clung to my skin as I walked to my dilapidated car.

  5. Vivid Verbs • Replace general verbs with vivid verbs • Makes writing more interesting and enjoyable for the reader • Vivid verbs have more specific meaning than general verbs

  6. Descriptive Adjectives They describe the noun in detail so the reader can visualize what is being read. • Examples: • Adorable • Helpful • Gifted • Aggressive • Bored • Wild • Evil • Fearless • Vivacious • Pleasing • Helpful
