  5. Carsharing - What is it? Car Sharing is a revolution in mobility for urban (and rural) transportation. Access to a car when you need one. The option to NOT own a car.

  6. Carsharing – what is it? Easy, reliable, self service access for members to a fleet of vehicles - 24/7 On an hourly, daily and weekly basis. Becomes YOUR car.

  7. Carsharing Without the cost, hassles and pollution of ownership.

  8. It’s so easy! Join as a member - get key fob Reserve a car (online, phone) Open the door with your fob (key inside) Bring vehicle back to designated space Time and distance recorded by technology and you are billed

  9. Fee structure • Annual fee: Household/Individual/Workplace • One application time fee: set up technology • Usage: hourly and distance (per km) • Membership Bond (refundable): keeps fees low

  10. CarSharing organization takes care of: Insurance Fuel Licensing Maintenance Bridge Pass service Parking Vehicle Payments

  11. More… • Pay only for what they reserve. • Reserve time in advance for up to month. • Added benefits - affiliates (free parking, perks on other mobility options like transit)

  19. Partnerships are the answer • Public and Private solutions together (buses, shuttles, carsharing, ridesharing) • Infrastructure: decision makers need to “get it” • No more studies! Action please! • Communication – technologies (old and new)

  22. Cost and efficiencies • People (like water) will go where it is easiest given the options available. • People change when changing is easier… • Those who need it the most can’t get to the meetings to lobby for change…or their medical appointments.
