What is Social Media? • Social Media is Not Strictly Advertising Nor Marketing: It’s About Connections! • Social Media is nothing more than a mirror of people’s real-world behavior • Social Media is comprised of completely user-generated content • Social Media is your connection to the next generation

  5. Why Should You Pay Attention to Social Media? • Many associations have not taken the necessary steps to start monitoring their content and name online • Pay attention to the conversations being developed and whether or not you are part of that conversation
