  6. Integration Resources • CDEMS-EMR Integration topic on CDEMS Forum at www.cdems.com • Share ideas, programming and costs through national network (“registry”) to collaborate on EMR-to-CDEMS integrations

  7. EMR-to-CDEMS Interface • eliminate the burden of double entry • deliver more timely data • extend the life of CDEMS • sustain population-based reporting capability for QI initiatives

  8. National Network (registry) • connect users with similar needs • share diverse and dynamic issues regarding integrations • share developments costs of interface programs • influence EMR vendors for registry-style reporting

Share Tech Specifications • Compiled variables in 5 of the “main” tables in CDEMS: tblDemo, tblHealth, tblMed, tblVisits, and tblServices. • 65 CDEMS variables pared down to 35 fields became the record specification for integration • Specs and CDEMS table descriptions, target disease codes, etc. are included with EMR vendor RFP for a new integration program • Share the specs -- no need to re-invent!
