  1. Understanding United States Import Export Data and their rules and regulations

  2. The United States is a powerful country that does many things on an international level. The US government is constantly revising and improving its policies and practices so as not to let it get behind the global progress. Among these policies are US Import Export Data, which are essential in tracking its growth and the conditions of its trade deals.

  3. Why US import export data is cautious? • Every country has its unique advantages and limitations while trading and the US government knows this very well. For instance, it knows that China has a massive labor force and cheap resources to work with. • This means that it can purchase these goods at cheap rates and sell them at higher rates in the domestic market. In turn, China can gain access to the other countries' raw materials and labor at relatively cheaper prices because of its overwhelming trade surplus. But the other countries are not too sure about China's intentions and there are apprehensions on the part of the other country about not getting what it has paid for. There is a fear that the other party might reject the offer or sell its products at much lower rates to undercut the deal. • When the other party finds out that the other country has made a concession to clinch the deal, it naturally seeks to have an upper hand and regain some of its investment. China has used its control over the trade deficit to achieve this purpose. By buying dollars and selling them at a high price to the other party, China ensures that it ends up with the biggest profit. That is why the US government is very cautious about releasing its import-export data especially when it comes to its massive trade surplus.

  4. However, this policy has opened doors for countries like China as now it has the advantage to buy goods for low rates from other countries without necessarily having to pay the required taxes and duties. However, China needs to be careful not to abuse its dominance in the trade by keeping out US exporters by flooding the market and keeping the prices down. The result would be more unemployment and higher imports, which would hurt US businesses and lead to more problems for US import-export. This is yet another reason why the United States is consulting with other countries to help curb China's activities in its vast trade surplus.

  5. US import and export Rules and regulations • Importers of goods eligible for the US tariff are required to present evidence of their receipt and payment of duty and taxes. They also have to stick to the duty-free import limits imposed by the US government and can only export goods above a specified limit per year. Some of these rules and regulations can be found here. • US Importers and exporters have to work out a strategy to avoid being blacklisted by the United States government. This is because they have been known to exaggerate the number of goods that they bring into the country. For instance, one company imported goods worth $100 million from China but declared them all as imports of agricultural feed. This was declared to be a lie and the importer was subsequently barred by the customs and had to pay hefty fines.

  6. US import and export Rules and regulations • Customs is the single most important interface between the US importers and exporters of goods. Without the customs, the importer cannot access the global supply chain and as a consequence, the country cannot Import Export Data of any country. It is imperative for every importer and exporter to submit all necessary data to the customs department at the earliest.
