  1. 2013 SLC Halloween Food Drive THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!!!

  2. Purpose • We will be going to nearly every house in Strathmore to collect non-perishable food items AND change to support causes locally and globally. We are partnered with Me To We for the change drive – they will use it to fundraise for a global cause. The food will go to the Wheatland Food Bank to support those in need locally.

  3. Rules! • We will be leaving the school at 5:45 – please be here at 5:30. • You will be given a route, and map to follow. IF YOU FINISH EARLY – you may walk home, however – the bus driver must be made aware of this, along with your driver!!!! • Please return to the assigned drop off/pick up location 10 minutes prior to when you are scheduled to be picked up – the bus driver will tell you when to be there. • You MAY NOT be driven by anyone other than the bus driver. • You MUST have school ID with you. • You must stay with your group, do not venture off on your own. • Follow all traffic rules, cross streets safely, etc. Keep an eye on each other – we do not want anyone hurt!

  4. Protocol • When you go to a door (only ones with lights on please) – say something to the extent of “I am a student from SHS and we are collecting food items for the food bank, and spare change to support the MeToWe Club’s global fundraiser, would you be able to support us?” • You will collect the change in one of the baggies provided to each group, and food in a shopping bag, pillowcase, etc (please bring one). • Your route driver will be collecting your food from you periodically. If you have more than you can carry, please phone your driver, or Mariah ASAP! • The goal is to reach every house, all of the routes are manageable. • PLEASE KEEP ALL GROUP MEMBERS IN SITE!

  5. What you need to bring! • Dress up if you’d like – chances are that you will get some candy too. • Gloves, toque, earmuffs, etc depending on the weather. You will be outside for 3 hours and the temperature drops after dark. Please pleaseplease dress warmly! • A shopping bag (ieSobey’s, lululemon, etc) to carry food in – you will need probably 2. • SCHOOL IDENTIFICATION CARD – everyone is expected to have it with them, and to wear it (we will provide holders). This is imperative.

  6. In case of emergency • If you get lost, or have questions: please call Mariah (number is at very top of contact sheet). • If you need food picked up: please call your route driver, or Mariah if they do not answer. • A teacher will be available throughout the night if you have any major issues, Mariah will be able to get them in contact with you. • If you are going to be late for the bus pickup after you are done your route – please notify the bus driver. However, please be on time – the entire event has little room to slow down.

  7. Any questions? • Wednesday – 5:30 until 9:00ish • Bring bags, ID, and warm clothes
