  2. World School Objectives Masaki Matsudaira created World School in 1997 with the following vision: • A World Without Boarders • A Forum for Youth from the World • A widening of Horizons • Youth embracing different global perspectives • Lasting friendships

  3. Main Activities • Bonding Activities • Debates Preparation • Debates • Visits related to the theme • Cultural visits • Home stay • Country Presentations: related to the theme and cultural performances • Games

  4. Preparation tasks By the end of May • Debate Research • PowerPoint Presentation: CountryPresentation related to the theme. • Canadian Booth: Related to the theme. • Traditional Performance: singing and/or dancing. Summer time and second week of September • Scrapbook about our way of life in Canada. • Meeting with the Previous Canadian Delegations.

  5. World School Requirements Personal requirements • Total Grade Average: +80% • Strong Organizational Skills • Strong Communication Skills • Team Work Ability • Independent Work Ability • Respect of deadlines • Ability to cope with changeand differences

  6. Requirements Personal commitments Before WS:Preparation Tasks During WS:Best Behavior as Canadian and Trafalgar Representatives After WS: • Reflection Video • Video for the Assembly • WS Board 2014 + Pictures • Open House • Previous Delegations Supper

  7. Expenses All expenses during World School are covered by the Kanto International School Educational Foundation. • Student Plane Ticket + 1/3 of the teacher’s ticket • Insurances (Health and Trip Cancellation + Modification) • Gifts for Homestay Family • Canada Booth Small items • Pocket Money

Candidate Selection procedure • Candidate Letter of Presentation (Anonymous) • Word Printed Document.Name on a sheet of paper at the back of your letter. • Min. 200 words, max. 300 words, double spaced • Answer these two questions: Why would you like to go to WS? Why would you be a good candidate for WS? • Research and PPT (Anonymous) TOPIC: Environment and Clothing. Tradition and Innovation. • Individual Interview • Group Interview/Team Activity Session
