  1. Still Convincing Yourself About Hair Loss? Hair fall is perfectly normal, we all shed up to 100 strands a day, but for some hair loss is much more serious. Hair loss affects both men and women. While genes play a vital role in hair loss there are other reasons as well, including hormonal imbalances, hypothyroidism, nutritional deficiencies and insufficient blood circulation in the scalp. Hair loss facts It is a common condition and affects most people at some point in their lives. Hair loss from breakage of the hair shaft is different than hair loss from decreased hair growth. Androgenetic hair loss is seen in both men and women. Anaemia, thyroid, protein deficiency and low vitamin levels also cause hair loss. Alopecia areata is a common cause of hair loss that usually resolves on its own. Good hair hygiene, good nutrition, and regular shampooing can help prevent hair loss. Medical health screenings for hair loss include blood tests such as complete blood count (CBC), vitamin B, iron level and thyroid function tests (TFT). How is hair loss treated? Common types of hair loss, such as male pattern baldness do not need treatment because they are a natural part of aging and do not pose a risk to your health. However, any type of hair loss can be distressing, so you should consult a dermatologist. The dermatologist will diagnose the type of hair loss by examining the hair. The treatment depends on the type of hair loss. Source: http://www.indiamedicalhub.com/health-articles/still-convincing-yourself-about-hair-loss
