  1. Blog1: Indyfamilydentist.com Getting Back Your Amazing Smile A chipped tooth, or a fractured one or maybe a couple of discolored ones are ruining your smile? This is where cosmetic dental care comes into play. There are various restorative dental procedures that aim to bring back the amazing smile you had. These are: Tooth Fillings: These are usually used when a tooth is damaged by decay and has a to be restored back to continue its normal function. The part that is decayed is first cleaned out which creates and cleans the cavity. This cavity is then filled with the filling material. The filling serves the purpose of closing the cavity to restore normal use of the tooth as well as reducing the chances of further decay. Dentals Crowns: Crowns are used to either support a weak tooth or for cosmetic purposes to improve the structural aspect. This procedure will require you to visit your dentist twice. The first visit will involve the filling down of the teeth for the crown to fit or filling up the teeth if it is extremely damaged. Once the permanent crown is brought in from the lab, your second appointment will be scheduled to install the crown. It is held in place by an adhesive. Dental Bridges: Do you have a tooth missing? Or two teeth decided to keep a distance from each other? This is prosthetic equipment used where a single or multiple teeth are missing. The caps on both sides of the bridge are set on the two teeth on each side of the gap. False teeth are then installed to take the place of the missing teeth. Dental Implants: These are the frames or post made of metal that are inserted into the jaw bones through cosmetic dental surgery to enable the mounting of false teeth. This process eliminates the issues of slips and shifts that might be faced by the installment of dental bridges especially during speaking or just eating.
