  1. WHAT IS HIV? HIV is a virus that results in AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome). It stands for acquired immunodeficiency virus which is a condition that has attacked the lives and development of millions of people throughout the world. HIV is a retrovirus which is transmitted through direct contact of a person infected with HIV. For example, a person can get HIV via direct contact with blood, semen, body fluid, and vaginal fluid of another person with HIV. A mother can pass it to her baby during pregnancy and by breastfeeding. Importantly, HIV is the condition and AIDS is the outcome of a stage of evolution of the virus throughout the human body. HIV is responsible for finishing and exhausting every trace of immune defenses that exist when AIDS manages to establish itself as the terminal stage of the disease in which the affected individual suffers excessively and counts drops. What Is AIDS (Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome) AIDS is the Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome; it is the final result or the most advanced stages of the process of HIV infection or Human Immunodeficiency Virus. Even though, both do not mean the same thing but go hand in hand, since one is the origin of the condition and the other is the outcome of it.
